Final Fantasy XIII-2 |
Game developer Square Enix on Tuesday announced a new version of Final Fantasy for the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 game consoles. Dubbed "Final Fantasy XIII-2," the game will be available next winter. Square Enix claims that the game series has shipped over 97 million units worldwide as of September 2010, with XIII accounting for 6 million units.
First, the "Final Fantasy XIII-2" registered, apparently for Square-Enix. Then just this morning, "Final Fantasy XIII-2" was formally announced for an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Japan, a direct sequel to last year's "Final Fantasy XIII." Take care not to confuse "Final Fantasy XIII-2" with the planned console spin-off "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" and the upcoming PlayStation Portable RPG "Final Fantasy Type-0" (formerly "Final Fantasy Agito XIII"). If gameplay is what you're looking for, there's also a new trailer for "Final Fantasy Type-0" online.
Square Enix plans on releasing a sequel to the epic role-playing adventure Final Fantasy XIII next winter. Since launching last year to mixed reviews, Final Fantasy XIII shipped 6 million copies to retailers worldwide, the publisher says.
