“The Oregon Trail” is now easily recognizable by many as the classroom computer game that defined slacking off in class.This game model last saw success with Farmville. Thanks to Facebook, Farmville is now the most played game of all time.
Even with the serious announcement, The Learning Company is open to joking about the game. The Christian Science Monitor even recommended that, if you are going to play one game on Facebook, it should be "Oregon Trail."
The game is coming to Facebook starting on February 2. Now, developer Blue Fang Games and publisher The Learning Company promise to bring back all those rabbits, small pox, and covered wagons to Facebook users.
I noticed there are a ton of Oregon Trail related groups on Facebook, some with humorous titles like, “Oregon Trail (aka-i just tried to ford the river and my fu%^#& oxen died)” and “The buffalo are endangered cuz I played too much Oregon Trail in school.”
